About Us

Wendy Farmer and Tina Griffin opened IDA, or Interior Designs from Above, Inc., on July 1, 2003. Originally opened in a 10,000 sq. ft. retail space Tina and Wendy quickly found that their design clients deserved the more attention. As a design team that decorate windows, walls and floors of homes, businesses and churches. They are passionate about what they do and they truly enjoy creating custom interiors for their clients. From furniture and rugs to custom window treatments, they have hundreds of sources for all that they need. Whether it is a remodeling project or a newly constructed home, they work with each client and their individual needs. Each project ends up with a totally different look that is created to fit the client's style, budget and interior.

Wendy, the design coordinator, works mainly behind the scenes getting everything ordered, scheduled and ready for delivery. From answering the phone to installing window treatments, she is kept busy! She has been working in furniture and helping others decorate since 1992. First working with a sales rep. during the International Home Furnishings Mart and then in customer service for a large furniture manufacturer later she owned and operated her own wallpaper store, "Wallpaper To Go". This is where Tina and Wendy met in 2001 and where Tina later asked Wendy to join her in starting IDA. Wendy has been a great asset to Tina ever since and now refers to her as her "right-hand".

Tina, the designer, graduated from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC with a BS in Arts & Technology in 1989. Her specialty was in Interior Design, both residential and commercial. She has worked in retail furniture sales since 1989 and her parents claim she's been designing since she was 7 years old (moving furniture around in her bedroom). She loves working with clients and makes it fun!
